Henri Coandă International Airport
Henri Coandă International Airport (commonly known as Otopeni International Airport) is the largest Airport in Romania, with over 4.500.000 per year since 2007, located in Otopeni, 16,5 kilometers from Bucharest. In 2004, it was named after Henri Coandă, discoverer of the Coandă effect, and inventor of the Coandă 1910 aircraft. The Otopeni Airport is one of the two airports of Bucharest, the other one is in Băneasa.
The Otopeni Airport serves commercial flights since 1965. Today it has four terminals, for domestic and international flights as well. It has two runways of 3500 meters and can operate with up to 35 movements per hour. Air traffic is 66 332 airplanes and 17 423 tons of transported cargo.
